As one of the leading B2B wholesalers of consumables, igefa decided to set up a digital company in order to tap into new target groups and markets. IGEFA SE & Co. KG is the leading company in the field of cleaning and hygiene products in Germany. As an established provider in the German B2B market environment, the medium-sized company specializes in customers with very high requirements in the areas of healthcare, facility management, hotels, restaurants and catering (HoReCa), industry and transport, public institutions and municipalities as well as retail companies.

To expand its competitiveness beyond its core market, igefa has set itself the strategic goal of tapping into new markets in digital commerce in addition to its existing key account business in direct sales.
Through in-depth internal and external analyses, including numerous interviews with potential customer groups, TalentFormation has identified the target group of online-savvy small and medium-sized enterprises (small B2B) and private customers (B2C) as optimal target groups.

Given the ambitious goals and the need to develop the necessary skills internally, igefa called on the expertise of TalentFormation.
During the conception and implementation phase, TalentFormation took on not only technical but also specialist roles - from business model designers to marketing experts, category managers and back-end developers.
From the outset, the aim was to gradually internalize these external roles and systematically empower both existing and newly recruited employees to drive the new e-commerce business forward independently.

- Two-stage approach: initial light tool support, followed by implementation of scalable systems
- At the start of the project, all relevant roles - from business model design, CRM/marketing, and category management to backend developers - were filled from the TalentFormation Network. This achieved a remarkable speed, which formed the basis for a fast and successful launch.
